2016 CABERNET SAUVIGNON
This wine is a pure expression of dark fruit, warm cooking spice and earthy/herbal aromas typical of the varietal. Juicy cherry and cinnamon flavors are paired with sweet herbs and baking spice. This is a medium to heavy styled wine with a powerful acid backbone, balanced with a strong ripe plum finish. The perfect holiday bottle. This Cabernet Sauvignon will pair beautifully with stuffed portobello mushrooms, a fine steak, and braised ribs.
Our Cabernet Sauvignon comes from Dark Horse Ranch, a 160-acre Biodynamic certified ranch and vineyard owned and managed by the Dolan family. Located 8 miles north of the town of Hopland along the banks of the upper Russian River and sitting at 2,500 feet of altitude, this site provides outstanding conditions for growing Cabernet Sauvignon.
2017 PINOT NOIR
Our Pinot Noir comes-from Filigreen Farm which is owned and operated by husband and wife team Stephanie and Chris Tebbutt. It is Located about 2 miles North of Boonville, in the famed Anderson Valley AVA of Mendocino County. Filigreen Farm is certified Demeter Biodynamic and takes great pride in farming responsibly for future generations. Yields in the vineyards were slightly lower than average to average, mainly due to small berries on each cluster. This even, elongated growing season allowed for great flavor development and nice acid retention as well. It displays beautiful notes of raspberries, black tea, and dark cherry, with a smooth earthly finish. This Pinot pairs nicely with mushroom dishes, pork tenderloin and poultry with berry based sauces.
